- An oval silver soup tureen, the body is chased with panels of acanthus leaf decoration intersected bullrushes above and below. On the foot is a band of fluting and on each side a scroll-shaped cartouche – one engraved: “York Meeting August 1824, Earl of Scarborough, Lord Milton M.P. and Jas Wortley Esq., M.P. Stewards” The other is engraved “Won Angler August 21 1824”. The base is inscribed: “Presented Sir William Milner Bt., F.R.I.B.A., F.S.A., in Commemoration of his and his Forebears Membership of the Merchant Adventurers Company of York. Charterday Court April 1958.” The cover is fluted and surmounted a standing horse [‘Angler’] which forms a handle. London Hallmark (over stamped in York James Barber & Company), 1824.

- An oval silver soup tureen, the plain body is engraved with a band of leaf scrolls and two circular cartouches – one engraved with a Lion Rampant holding a scroll; the other, a vertical arm holding a broken sword. The exterior of the rimmed foot is engraved with: “The Company of the Merchant Adventurers of the City of York. Gift of J. G. Sykes. Governor 1958”. The domed cover having a leaf and thread ring handle. Sheffield Hallmark. Martin Hall & Company, 1872.
