Brief description:
Architectural plans, including building and site plans, of the Horniman Museum Building (designed by Charles Harrison Townsend in 1901), the land and gardens surrounding the museum, and related buildings including the Study Collections Centre (Dreadnought Building) and the Horniman Pub (London Bridge). The plans record the building of extensions, building alterations and development projects, such as building of the Emslie Horniman Library and Lecture Theatre in 1911. The plans were produced by the Horniman Museum and various external creating bodies including London County Council and independent architectural firms and consultancies. Also included are supporting documents, such as circulated reports, photographs and correspondence, relating to building projects and site surveys.
