Medals Collection
The Gloucestershire Regiment collection comprises approximately 600 groups of decorations and medals and is a good representation of the service of the Gloucestershire Regiment since medals were first officially struck. The Royal Gloucestershire Hussars collection consists of approximately 40 groups of decorations and medals awarded since 1815.

Costume and Textile Collection
The Gloucestershire Regiment collection has over 600 uniforms and articles of clothing including headgear and insignia, the oldest of which date from the 19th century. For the years pre-dating 1880, the collection consists mainly of examples of officers’ uniform jackets, for later years it is more comprehensive. The Royal Gloucestershire Hussars collection comprises approximately 270 uniforms and articles of clothing, the oldest of which dates from c.1795. The collection features Yeoman’s and officers’ braided dress and ‘Blues’ jackets; animal skin shakos; waist sashes and other trimmings.

Fine Art Collection
The Gloucestershire Regiment fine art collection mainly comprises watercolours, sketches, engravings and ten miniatures dating from c.1780-1820. The collection is particularly strong in watercolours by members of the Regiment depicting foreign landscapes and officers and soldiers of the Regiment from 1801 to 1918. The Royal Gloucestershire Hussars collection has one painting in oils; one original pencil drawing of a magazine illustration dating from 1914-1918; one watercolour painting; and two lithographic prints.

Archives Collection
This is a major aspect of the collection. The Gloucestershire Regiment collection comprises maps; letters; postcards; books; magazines; personal records of service; photographs; diaries; and first-person accounts of service experiences. Most of this material dates from the late 19th and 20th centuries. The Royal Gloucestershire Hussars collection contains regimental records.
