    Local History Collection

The Redbridge Museum collects objects and information relating to the history of Redbridge and its residents. The majority of its existing collections dates from the 19th and 20th century and this includes a large group of domestic objects, a costume and textile collection (20th century women’s clothes, uniforms and a tapestry of the borough’s history), coins, medals and badges, objects relating to community organisations, especially on health and education, products of local industries and businesses such as Ilford Cameras and Plessey, material relating to the two World Wars and architectural features, signs and notices. The museum is actively collecting recent and contemporary material to record the diversity of its modern community.
