  • Collection history (Collection development policy)

The original museum was situated in the South Somerset District Council offices in Church Street and notice to quit was given when the premises became unsafe. The collection was in store for a period during which Heritage Lottery funding was acquired to purchase the current Heritage Centre to house the museum which opened in 2000. From that time the collection expanded taking into consideration the Collection Development Policy.
