    The collections are housed in the former RAF North Weald Station Office built in 1903 at what was the main entrance to the airfield. RAF North Weald was a famous Battle of Britain Fighter Base, and protected London during two World Wars The airfield is still active and at weekends visitors may be able to see both veteran and classic aircraft such as Spitfire, Mustang, Invader, Vampire, Hunter, Dakota, Yaks and Jet Provosts. Nearby is the RAF North Weald Memorial which incorporates a unique obelisk erected by the people of Norway in gratitude to the people of North Weald. North Weald parish church holds the graves of many of the airmen and other service personnel killed in enemy attacks on North Weald.
