- Born at Cromer 1886 son of Dr Robert Fenner. He joined HMS Britannia in 1900 and served his first Commission as Midshipman in the flagship HMS Bulwark. Later he commanded the Submarine C37 in her voyage from Portsmouth to Hong Kong. At the commencement of the War, as Gunnery Lieutenant in HMS Warrior, he took part in the chase of the Goeben and Brelau. He subsequently commanded submarines in the North Sea and the Baltic and was lost while in command of K4 on 31st January 1918. He recieved from the Czar the Orders of Vladimir and Stanislaus. His brother Cyril died in 1916.
