Taught Textiles at the University of Leeds, 1968-71, and Graphic Design at Coventry Polytechnic, 1971-73, before teaching at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, 1974-2001, where he acted as Head of Department, 1986-95, and was awarded a Professorship in 1990. He has also worked as an Archive Research Fellow at the British School at Rome. Crawford has exhibited with the 56 Group Wales and in 1985 he won the Gold Medal at the National Eisteddfod. His written research includes monographs on the photographers Mario Giacomelli and Erich Lessing. His practical work - photography, etchings and paintings - is generally inspired by architecture, places and people

His teaching career began at Harrow School before he became Head of Photography at Gresham’s School in Norfolk. Twohig was Director of Art at Brighton College from 2000 to 2012 and Wellington College from 2013 to 2017 before arriving at Marlborough college to become Head of Art in September 2017. - Artist's proof with tone, second state after the first edition of 10. Edward Twohig curated 'Print REbels: Haden, Palmer, Whistler & the Origins of the RE' at the Bankside Gallery for the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers (RE) in 2018. In Spring 2019 a version of the exhibition toured to the School of Art Museum and Galleries, Aberystwyth University. Twohig kindly donated a collection of his own drypoints to the School of Art Collection to commemorate this event.

For three months Pete worked prolifically - creating sculptures - giant woodcuts and installation. He was able however to find some time to come to the studio at The School of Art to draw plates for the two prints \'Space Between I and II\'. Both prints are two runs, drawn on aluminium plate using crayon and tusche.

- Curated by Paul Croft, the exhibition 'Contemporary Chinese Printmakers' is the second in a two-part exchange between Aberystwyth and Changsha and follows the successful showing of 界 Jie (Borders) - a joint-exhibition between Croft and Professor Lu Yu from Changsha Central South University, held earlier at Changsha Houhu International Art Park during May and June.
Comprising of over sixty prints by 29 printmakers and members of The Hunan Printmaking Association the exhibition also included prints by students from Changsha Central South University, Changsha Normal University and The Art School at Hunan University of Science and Technology.

- Curated by Paul Croft, the exhibition 'Contemporary Chinese Printmakers' is the second in a two-part exchange between Aberystwyth and Changsha and follows the successful showing of 界 Jie (Borders) - a joint-exhibition between Croft and Professor Lu Yu from Changsha Central South University, held earlier at Changsha Houhu International Art Park during May and June.
Comprising of over sixty prints by 29 printmakers and members of The Hunan Printmaking Association the exhibition also included prints by students from Changsha Central South University, Changsha Normal University and The Art School at Hunan University of Science and Technology.

- Painter and art historian. Studied at Gwent College of Higher Education, 1977-81, and at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, 1982-84 and 1986-91, where he completed a PhD in Art History. He is currently Professor of Fine Art at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth where he served as Head of Department between 1995 and 2004. His art work examines Judaic and Protestant visual cultures and includes constructions, drawings and the systemic paintings of his 'Pictorial Bible', the latter being abstract visualisations of biblical texts. His published writings include 'The Art of Piety: The Visual Culture of Welsh Nonconformity',1995, and 'Image of the Invisible: The Visualisation of Religion in the Welsh Nonconformist Tradition', 1999
