- This plain oak wardrobe, in the Arts and Crafts style, with simple panelled door and heart shaped cut-outs, is an example of Liberty's 'Athelstan' range of furniture, which was described in their 1902 catalogue as a serviceable and artistic suite in solid oak. The upper panel is a hand stained representation of the English landscape.

Printed cotton with the arms of King Athelstan of Wessex.
When the infantry was reorganised in 1947, training brigade groups were established, either on geographical proximity or associated traditions. The badges were worn on the left sleeve, below the shoulder title.
This badge is based on the arms of King Athelstan of Wessex. The brigade was comprised of the Devonshire Gloucestershire, Dorset, Royal Hampshire and Wiltshire Regiments.

- Sea Chest which belonged to Cadet Athelstan John Crowther Arkell. Black top and bottom with light grey sides. Brass plaque on top with name A.J.C.ARKELL./R.N., handle at either end and lid can be locked down with key at front. On underside of lid is a mirror and six brass hooks, two sprung loaded to hold telescope, two for dirk, and two for lanyard or sword belt. Chest has two partitions in bottom to make three compartments for clothing. Lift out trays on top of partitions, left open tray, centre locked box, right tin wash basin with lid and three lift out enamel soap dishes. Makes name in blue on underside of enamel lid - GIEVE, MATTHEWS / & SEAGROVE LTD. / LONDON, PORTSMOUTH, / DEVONPORT, & CHATHAM. Small brass label with label RD.No.406234 on lid. Chest contains other collection numbers and miscellaneous items: blanket, leather strap, small boxed cut-throat razor, box of buttons, lead weight, two black leather wallets and orange wood egg containing dice, spinning top and coin.
