Hackney’s youth sports fund will help the borough’s talented young athletes and clubs working with young people to reach the highest standards in sport.
The fund will support the borough’s young sporting stars to train to compete at the highest level in a wide range of Olympic and paralympic sports: and it will encourage sports clubs for young people to reach Clubmark standard.
The Hackney youth Sports fund aims to:
Give talented young athletes and disabled athletes the Best possible opportunities to compete by supporting training, coaching and mentoring.
Develop effective, strong voluntary sector sports clubs for young people.
Train and develop coaching
Empower the disability sports sector
Increase participation by under-represented groups
How to apply
The criteria for individuals and clubs and both sets of application forms, will be on Hackney Council’s website from mid-October.

Applications for 2007 must be received by 30 November. For 2008 onwards. Applications will be invited twice each year by 31 March and 30 September.
you will hear within three months if you have been successful.
Applications will be assessed by a board that includes representatives from the council health and sports bodies within the borough.
