Hanging device: In gold coloured metal, the Roman numeral 'C' (100) entwined with a two figure of eight knot design, within a worm oroborus (snake biting its own tail), within a Seal of Solomon (six pointed). Over this is a roundel infilled with red enamel and with text 'AUCKLAND CHAPTER No. 1338 / 1883'. Pin: Horizontal.

- As most jewels are manufactured in the same year as they are presented, date of manufacture for this jewel is taken to be the same as the centenary year of the Chapter. Please note this manufacture date is speculative as occasionally jewels are manufactured before or even after the date of presentation.

- This jewel does not fit the standard pattern of Chapter Centenary jewels, the explanation is that the required jewels were not going to arrive from the UK in time for the Chapter's centenary so some replacements were sourced locally.
