Top bar: Gold coloured metal bar divided into three sections, infilled with dark blue, white and dark blue enamel and bearing the text 'CHAP / LA / FRANCE'. Ribbon: Ribbed and watered silk with a diamond shape design of dark blue and red. Ribbon device: Two gold coloured metal crossed flags, the Union flag in red, white and blue enamel on the left and the French flag in blue, white and red enamel on the right. There is a gold coloured metal relief laurel wreath in the centre. Hanging device: The Roman numeral 'C' (100) in gold coloured metal, entwined with a two figure of eight knot design, within a worm oroborus (snake biting its own tail). The design is within a Seal of Solomon (six pointed) in gold coloured metal, with a roundel of red enamel bearing text 'CHAP LA FRANCE No. 2060 / 1889'. Pin: Horizontal.
