Comments:
A collection of 42 jewels belonging to W. Bro. William Alfred Dawson was donated to the Library and Museum in April 2009. William Dawson was senior partner of Dawson and Sons engineers and was involved in the construction of Tower Bridge, Millwall Docks and numerous steelworks in Europe. He was initiated into Loyal Lodge of Industry No.421 South Molton in 1872 and rose to the rank of Past Grand Deacon. He was a member of the Board of General Purposes 1885-7. He died in February 1911 at his home in Cobham aged sixty three after a short illness.
