- A black and white photograph of five men in ARP uniforms standing in front of car marked 'No 24 Hackney'. The ARP (Air Raid Precaution) scheme provided public shelters and gas-proof rooms in people’s homes. Each ARP warden worked in one post, and was responsible for a particular area. They made sure that no light was visible at night, and made records of bomb damage.
