This pendant imagines Bronze Age traders approaching the coast of ancient Aberdeen after days at sea. Materials like jet and amber reflect Swanson’s interest in prehistoric trade routes and archaeological finds. The work captures a moment of anticipation and exchange, while also celebrating the spirit of enterprise and the lasting connections between Scotland and Scandinavia, both past and present.
