Person's biographical note:
Printmaker. Studied at West Surrey College of Art and Design, 1982-83, Portsmouth Polytechnic, 1983-86, and Chelsea School of Art, 1986-87. She has taught part-time at Kent Institute of Art and Design, 1989-2006, and Lewisham College, 2004-05, and has also worked as a printmaking technician at Middlesex University, 1993-98, and Goldsmiths' College, 2004-06. She has had solo shows in France, Germany, London and America and has won awards including the Mel Gordon Prize, 1996, and the University of Wales, Aberystwyth Purchase Prize, 2005 and 2007. Her comical, surreal etchings explore strange combinations of animal, plant and human forms. She has also produced linocuts of busy street scenes which feature cartoon characters such as Popeye and Betty Boop. She lives in London and south-west France where she is a member of Pierre Presse, a lithography atelier
