Top bar: Gold double banner with ' ROYAL / PRINCE OF WALES ' in bright relief. Ribbon: Light blue ribbed and watered silk. Ribbon device: Gold Prince of Wales crest - three feathers threaded through a coronet with th motto ' ICH DIEN ' on a scroll beneath. Mounted on the feathers are a gold set square and compasses. Bottom bar: Gold scroll with ' No. 1555 ' in bright relief. Hanging device: Gold set square, engraved with a border of acacia, from which is suspended the 47th proposition of Euclid. Presentation inscription: Obverse of hanging device. Pin: Vertical
