Ribbon device: Pointed oval device in gold with a painted enamel representation of Chertsey Abbey at the centre, in blue, red and green, surrounded by a border of red enamel with gold text reading 'CERETIZAECIE SIGILLUM SANCTI PETRI'. Bottom bar: Gold bar infilled with red enamel with text 'UNDETRIGESIMUS'. Hanging device: Gold set square with an applied Celtic knot motif, beneath which is suspended the 47th proposition of Euclid framed with a helix motif. - The badge on the ribbon device is derived from a wax seal on the documents of surrender for Chertsey Abbey in 1538 as part of Henry VIII's Dissolution of the monasteries. The Latin translates as 'Chertsey seal of Saint Peter'. 'Ceretizaecie' is the Latin spelling of the original Saxon name for Chertsey.
