Victorian steel chatelaine with several accessories including a coin purse, pencil and tape measure it would appear two chains are missing. Origianlly worn by women as a symbol of wealth and power within a household in Medeaval times. Chatelaines became more of a fashion accessory over time, but were also useful for having items like sewing equipment to hand.
