- Small metal badge of round shape. The front has a violet background and green lettering that reads “I love [Heart] Hackney” where the word “love” is illustrated by the recognisable gender- female symbol with a heart on top -instead of a circle. On the back there is a metal needle for pinning the badge to clothes. The badge “I love [Heart] Hackney” is part of an initiative of Hackney Council to celebrate women living and working in the community. The campaign, launched on 26 January 2018, corresponds to the 100th anniversary of the Representation of the People Act 1918 which extended the vote to women for the first time in UK history.
