Brief description:
Hanging device: Royal crown in gold plated silver and partially infilled with red enamel with white and green enamel detailing. The crown is surmounted by a Royal lion in gold plated silver, within an arched frame of matt gold plated silver and framed by a ring of gold plated silver infilled with dark blue enamel and with text reading 'THE PRINCE OF WALES' LODGE / 1787 . 259 . 1887'. Pinned to the bottom of the device is the letter 'C' in gold plated silver. Surmounting the device is the crest of the Prince of Wales being a crown in gold plated silver with red and green enamel detailing, from which comes three ostrich feathers, in gold plated silver and relief. To the sides of the crown is a banner in gold plated silver and infilled with dark blue enamel with text reading 'ICH / DIEN'.

Comments:
Prince of Wales' Lodge, No. 259 is one of a small number to have a non-standard centenary jewel. Prior to the mid 1860s lodges produced unofficial jewels for centenaries and those with existing jewels were allowed to continue them as a concession when a standard form was made compulsory.
