Top bar: Gilded metal rectangle, engraved with ' UNITED SERVICE 1361 '. Ribbon: Light blue ribbed and watered silk, now faded to green. First hanging device: Gilded metal shield with two crossed enamelled flags - the white ensign and the Royal banner. Second hanging device: Gilded metal set square, from which is suspended the 47th proposition of Euclid. Presentation inscription: Reverse of second hanging device.
