Jambiya sheath, 1984 (c). The jambiya, or khanjar (in Oman) is a traditional dagger with a short, curved, double-edged blade. This particular example, made in Saham in Oman, was presented by Brigadier Rashid al Zaidi, Director of the Sultan of Oman's Armed Forces Museum, to William Reid, Director of the National Army Museum, on 27 August 1985.
