Signed with initials; dated 1895. Framed and glazed. Previously described as "Egyptian frieze with figures and hieroglyphics" and as "Great funeral procession". From Berlin, Royal Museum. Dyn. IV. See Lepsius, III, 19. Animals represented: orynx, addox, bull. The artist, Reginald Rye, was the second and the longest-serving Librarian of the University of London (1906-1944).
