Brief description:
H. J. May’s watercolour on paper with varnish finish depicts the view of Gandy Street from one of lower gallery windows of the Museum, Exeter (1926). May’s watercolour was completed whilst a student at the Art School which was then housed within the Royal Albert Memorial Museum. The study pays close attention to architectural detail and features. May uses muted colours to highlight shadow and natural light hues. This object is not on display. Inscription verso pencil inscribed H J May Gandy Street from a lower Museum window
