Comments:
The scene on the second ribbon device alludes to the Biblical citation of Joppa as the town where materials were unloaded for the construction of the Temple at Jerusalem. One strain of Masonic tradition has it that the sides of the river at Joppa were so steep that workmen had to help one another up onto the bank by means of a certain hold with the right hand, still used in Freemasonry today.
Comments:
The French motto on the third ribbon device translates as 'I hold and I will hold'.
