- These works of art are composite photographs constructed from images made by the photographer Tim Smith working with young divers in Leeds and Harrogate. Tim was asked to capture the movement of the dive into water, a commission that marked a departure from his usual ways of working as a documentary photographer whose method is to construct stories out of individual moments. In order to make these images, Tim shot short sequences of the divers in action from a variety of different viewpoints. He then composed them to describe the movement of the dive and the interplay of light and water.
