Button, officer, Agra Volunteer Rifle Corps, 1901-1920. Medium-sized white metal button made by J H Johnson and Company, Aligarh, United Provinces, with monogram, ‘AVR’, in the centre, within a wreath, surmounted by Queen Victoria's Crown. Raised in 1878, the Agra Volunteer Rifle Corps was an Indian Army auxiliary unit. In 1917, during World War One (1914-1918), it became the 19th Agra Company.
