Brief description:
Matroc Products information sheet. Morgan Matroc acquired the former Lodge Plugs site in St. Peter's Road, Rugby from Smiths Industries in 1992. In 2006 it was being run as a Morgan Advanced Ceramics factory. The other divisions of the Morgan Crucible Company are: Morgan Electro Ceramics and Morgan Technical Ceramics. The origins of the advanced ceramics division of the company start with Steatite & Porcelain Products Limited which was founded in 1929, and later owned by ICI. Morgan acquired the business in 1964, and started work in advanced ceramics in earnest. In March 2005 the base in Rugby moved from St. Peter's Road to new premises at Central Park near the A5 in Rugby.
