- Signed and labelled 'Paris' and numbered 3/8, with foundry stamp for L. Walsham. On oak plinth. The sculptor, Gordine, was connected to the University of London through her husband, Richard Hare (1907-1966), a scholar of Russian literature and the School of Slavonic and Eastern European Studies (SSEES), 1949-1966, where in 1962 he became the School's first Chair of Russian Literature.
