Filmed in 1960 on the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway, in Cumbria, England. Footage of miniature locomotive 'River Esk', driver oiling engine, locomotive coupled to another, shunting locomotive out of shed, locomotive 'River Esk' coupled to carriage, passengers (children and adults) in open carriages, train departing, various shots of the journey filmed from the lineside, stop at Irton road station, shots of journey filmed from the coal tank and from the open carriages, shots of journey from the lineside, stop for water tank refill, journey continues, Dalegarth station, ‘River Esk’ locomotive shunt on turntable, children talking with driver. A film made for Railway Roundabout BBC TV, by John Adams and Patrick Whitehouse. This is the original master film reel, colour, silent. Duration: 5 minutes 30 seconds
