Companion of the Order of the Bath, awarded to Major and Brevet (later Sir) Adrian Carton de Wiart, KBE CB CMG DSO VC, Army Staff, in the King’s Birthday Honours of 1919. The award appeared in the London Gazette on 3 June 1919:, for recognition of “... valuable services rendered in connection with military operations in France and Flanders.” De Wiart was awarded the Distinguish Service Order for operations against Dervish Forces at Shimber Berris, Somaliland, during November 1914 and February 1915 and the Victoria Cross while commanding 8th Battalion The Gloucester Regiment at La Boiselle on the Somme between 2-3 July 1916. From a medal group awarded to Lieutenant Colonel Sir Adrian Carton de Wiart, KBE, CB, CMG, DSO, VC, 4th (Royal Irish) Dragoon Guards and Army Staff.
