- Knight Commander of the Order of St Michael and St George (Military Division), awarded to Major-General (later Sir) Adrian Carton de Wiart, KBE VC, CB CMG DSO, Army Staff. The award appeared in the London Gazette on 1 January 1945. Between the two World Wars, de Wiart served as Commander of the British Military mission to Poland before retiring in 1924. He was reemployed as the commander of the British Military Mission to the Polish Army in 1939.
