- Brass coloured metal token. On the obverse central to the design is a relief depiction of the Thames tunnel, being two tunnels with arched entrances with a keystone at the centre and surmounted by an entablature. On each side is the river Thames and above are ships. Beneath the design is relief text reading 'THAMES TUNNEL / OPENED TO THE PUBLIC / MARCH 25. 1843'. On the reverse central to the design is relief text reading 'W. WARRINGTON . MEDALLIST / ENGRAVER / TO HER / MAJESTY / 27 / STRAND'.

- Comments:
- The Thames Tunnel, which connected Rotherhite and Wapping was built by the French engineer Sir Marc Isamabart Brunel (1769-1849). Building work took place between 1825 and 1842. It was opened the following year.
