- Comments:
- Robert Freke Gould (1836-1915) was a renowned freemason who founded the Quatuor Coronati Lodge, No. 2076, London. He was also published several papers on freemasonry in addition to the much celebrated 'History of Freemasonry' (1883-1887). On 8th December 1855 Gould was initiated into freemasonry. This medal commemorates Gould's fifty years as a freemason.
- Comments:
- The German text 'HAMBURGISCHE ZIRKEL CORRESPONDENZ' translates as 'THE HAMBURG CIRCLE CORRESPONDENCE'. It was a masonic society based in Hamburg, Germany, which funded and published works on masonic history and objects.
