Brief description:
Ribbon: Ribbed and watered silk in light blue, fading to green. Ribbon device: Set of three gold columns in three orders of architecture (from left to right: Doric, Ionic, Corinthian) standing on a chequered pavement of black and white enamel, which also supports a terrestrial globe of gold and painted enamel and a perfect ashlar of gold infilled with white enamel with a gold ring attached at the top. Hanging device: Gold set square and 47th proposition of Euclid on an oval plaque of light blue enamel, all set within a gold oval plaque surrounded by two gold snakes each biting the other's tail and bordered on the left by a sheaf of wheat and on the right by acacia leaves, all topped with a gold Pythagorean star (five pointed) on a gold square and compasses. Presentation inscription: On the reverse of the hanging device.
