- Object history note:
- SS Commodore was carrying coal from West Hartlepool when it ran aground in November 1896. The 'Henry Ramey Upcher' Lifeboat was launched and 14 lives were saved. The remains of the vessel are now buried under sand just west of Sheringham Lifeboat Station.
