- Brief description:
- A surgical instrument inspired by eminent surgeon John Wickham and designed by Random Design Ltd. This instrument was the winner of the 2006 Horner's Plastics Innovation and Design Award. Aiming to revolutionise minimally invasive surgical procedures the design eliminates the ring grip on conventional surgical instruments which can be restricting and tiring for surgeons. Control of the instrument is through rolling it with the forefinger and thumb and the jaws are controlled with minimal arm movement. Sovrin Plastics built the tooling and mould for the device and assembled the product.
