Hanging device: Central disc of light blue enamel on which is a design of a hand holding an hourglass in gold coloured metal and relief. The hand wears a white enamel cuff with text reading 'FRATERNITAS'. The hourglass has a white enamel section top and bottom, with text reading 'CENT / ANNI'. Framing the disc is a circular band of gold coloured metal with text in relief reading 'NOSTRA CLEPSYDRA SEGULUM NOTAT / 1856'. - Red silk collar with silver braid edging and a purple silk backing. A double line of silver braid runs down the centre of the collar with a gold embroidered chequerboard button. Suspended from the collar is an oval jewel in gold plated silver with a red glass centre on which is the device of a Grand Steward being a cornucopia between the legs of a compass. The edge of the jewel is matt with polished rim and text in relief reading 'UNITED GRAND LODGE OF ANCIENT FREE AND ACCEPTED MASONS OF ENGLAND'. There is an inscription on the reverse.

- Comments:
- A collection of 42 jewels belonging to W. Bro. William Alfred Dawson was donated to the Library and Museum in April 2009. William Dawson was senior partner of Dawson and Sons engineers and was involved in the construction of Tower Bridge, Millwall Docks and numerous steelworks in Europe. He was initiated into Loyal Lodge of Industry No.421 South Molton in 1872 and rose to the rank of Past Grand Deacon. He was a member of the Board of General Purposes 1885-7. He died in February 1911 at his home in Cobham aged sixty three after a short illness.

On each side of this is a banner mounted by relief text reading '1837 / 1987'. Behind the star is an oak and laurel wreath tied at the bottom with a ribbon. Encircling the whole design is a border mounted by relief text reading 'THE GRAND LODGE OF TEXAS AF&AM / 150 YEARS OF TEXAS MASONRY'. On the reverse central to the design is a relief depiction of an extended pair of compasses surmounted by a five-pointed star with a protractor below the compass. Enclosing this is an oak wreath. Encircling the whole design is a border mounted by relief text reading 'JOHN E. JACK KELLY GRAND MASTER / 1987'.

- White satin central rectangle, surrounded by alternate gold braid and blue ribbed satin rectangular frames and edged with a gold fringe on three sides. The same effect is produced on the apron flap, though in the shape of a trapezium. The apron is backed with light blue leather, and the flap with cream leather.
