Brief description:
Top bar: Gold coloured metal bar with relief pointed square design. Ribbon: Ribbed silk in light blue, faded to green. Ribbon device: Gold coloured metal banner, with foliage motif ends and infilled with dark blue enamel with text reading '150th CELEBRATION 1906'. Hanging device: Central disc of light blue enamel on which is a design of a hand holding an hourglass in gold coloured metal and relief. The hand wears a white enamel cuff with text reading 'FRATERNITAS'. The hourglass has a white enamel section top and bottom, with text reading 'CENT / ANNI'. Framing the disc is a circular band of gold coloured metal with text in relief reading 'NOSTRA CLEPSYDRA SEGULUM NOTAT / 1856'. Surmounting the disc is a set square and compass motif and this is all on a six pointed star in facet cut silver coloured metal. Pin: Vertical.

Comments:
Burlington Lodge is one of a small number to have a non-standard centenary jewel. Prior to the mid 1860s lodges produced unofficial jewels for centenaries and those with existing jewels were allowed to continue them as a concession when a standard form was made compulsory.
