- Thomas Charles Edwards (1837-1900) was a Calvinistic Methodist minister and preacher. He was appointed as the first Principal of the University College of Wales, Aberystwyth, a post he held from 1872 to 1891 before becoming principal at Bala College, a college established by his father, Lewis Edwards, in 1837. He studied at Oxford and was awarded degrees from Edinburgh University and the University of Wales. See OP48 for another portrait of Thomas Charles Edwards
