- This amazing collection came from the premises of ophthalmic optician, Mr Eubulus Williams, at 69 Queen St. Newton Abbot. Eubulus began his career as a silversmith and watchmaker in Somerset, but qualified in optics in 1900. He became a fellow of the Worshipful Company of Spectacle Makers, of the British Optical Association (BOA) and of the Institute of Ophthalmic Opticians – would you want anyone less qualified fitting your glass eye?
