Brief description:
Top bar: Gold rectangle coated with dark blue enamel, with ' JUBILEE 1867-1917 ' in gilt letters. Ribbon: Light blue ribbed and watered silk, now faded to green. Ribbon device: Gold, cast in the form of the Clarendon coat of arms - two eagles support a white enamelled shield with a red cross and five shells in gold. The crest is a coronet surmounted by a lion rampant, and the eagles stand on a scroll with the motto ' COTICULA / FIDEI / CRUX ' in blue enamel. Hanging device: Gold circle, the outer ring of which is coated with dark blue enamel and reads ' CLARENDON LODGE / CHESHIRE 1166 ' in gilt letters. Two shields are mounted on the circle the right bearing the arms of the City of Chester - three lions passant of England, in gold on blue, impale the three wheat sheaves of the Ancient Earls of Chester, in gold on white. The left hand shield is white enamel with a gold lion rampant and three pheons. Linking the two shields is a gold set square and compasses, surmounted by a lion rampant holding a downturned arrow.
