- A slender, striated mass of scolecite. White with a silky lustre and forms fibrous, radiating masses. Hard ~5, light and fragile. Soluble in hydrochloric acid, leaving silica gel. Very fragile. Acicular crystals up to ~5cm in length. 3 crystal masses form
