- Person's biographical note:
- Ceramicist. He trained at Harrow School of Art, and has had his own workshop in Plymouth for over thirty years. Initially he worked in traditional English slipware. In the 1980s he developed highly individual thrown forms, richly painted with abstract patterns and images, reflecting his personal interest in Eastern meditative philosophies and modern art. His colourful decoration is directly influenced by the work of abstract artists especially the painters Howard Hodgkin and Richard Natkin. He makes flat platters and teapots and tea bowls but he sees the pieces primarily as a vehicle for painting rather than as functional form
