- The judge Sir George Jessel (1824-1883), Master of the Rolls 1873-83, was Vice-Chancellor of the University of London, 1881-1883, the first graduate of the University to serve in this office. A room on the first floor has been named after him. Portrait signed and dated 1886. In gilt gesso frame. A giclée print on canvas of this picture is in Rm 103 (£500).
