- 3 Battalion Parachute Regiment Drop Zone patch. Now known as 3 PARA, the 3rd Battalion was formed in 1941 and was decimated during Operation Market Garden. Subsequently, 3 Para was deployed to Northern Ireland 12 times during the Troubles and saw action in the Falklands Conflict. Currently it is part of 16 Air Assault Brigade. 3 Para served in Afghanistan as pat of the Operation Resolute Support Mission protecting government advisors and supporting the Afghan National Army with officer training.
