An English earthenware jar with black glaze. Rounded, tapering to everted rim, small foot ring. Decorated with two incised bands. Unmarked. Register: "JAR, brown glazed earthenware. Found near Parliament Street, Nottingham, during excavations in connection with the construction of the M.S. & L. line to London. English (Nottingham), 17th century."
