Brief description:
Top bar: Gold plated silver bar with engraved foliage design. Ribbon: Ribbed silk in light blue, faded to green. Hanging device: Eight pointed star in gold plated silver, each of the rays being facet cut. At the centre of the star is a disc of white enamel, with a border of dark blue and text reading 'Brotherly love / relief and truth'. To the top of the disc at the centre is an engraved set square and compass design. To the bottom centre of the disc is an image of a crouching man above an hourglass, both in gold plated silver and relief. To the bottom os the star is a banner in gold plated silver and infilled with dark blue enamel with text reading '1757-1857'. There is a presentation inscription on the reverse. Pin: Vertical.

Comments:
Shakespear Lodge is one of a small number to have a non-standard centenary jewel. Prior to the mid 1860s lodges produced unofficial jewels for centenaries and those with existing jewels were allowed to continue them as a concession when a standard form was made compulsory.
