Brief description:
A view of Threadneedle Street looking west towards the Mansion House (completed in 1752). Various pedestrians, horses and riders and carriages can be seen on the street. On the right is the main entrance to the Bank, erected by architect George Sampson, supported on either side by architect Robert Taylor's wings. The whole of this front was reconstucted in 1823 by John Soane.Ackermann's Repository of Arts was an illustrated British periodical published from 1809 to 1829 by Rudolph Ackermann.
